# Chittagong Port # The Navy’s Chittagong Drydock Terminal started operating from 12:01 am last Sunday.
There are four terminals at the Chittagong Port for loading and unloading containers from ships. Apart from the Newmooring Terminal, the other three are General Cargo Bath or GCB, Chittagong Container Terminal or CCT and RSGT Chittagong. The largest of these is the Newmooring Terminal. The terminal has 14 state-of-the-art gantry cranes for loading and unloading containers from ships. Five ships can be moored at the terminal at the same time. Four of them are ocean-going and one is a small ship operating on inland waterways.
After taking over the management of the Chittagong Drydock Terminal, members of the Navy working at the institution were seen supervising the loading and unloading of containers at the Newmooring Terminal yesterday. The terminal operates 24 hours a day. For this, a senior officer of the Chittagong Drydock is responsible for coordinating the management work in each shift (eight hours). However, it is not known exactly how many people from the Drydock are involved in the management of the terminal.
